How colours change the spatial effect of a room: |

| When (re)designing the interior of a room, the colour or colours used will be one of the main contributors to the final atmosphere. Bright and light; dark and perhaps gloomy? The eye and the mind tend to have their own opinion of how the room - with fixed dimensions - seem to change shape when parts of the room are coloured lighter or darker than other parts. This is something to be very aware of when choosing materials and adding colour to walls, ceiling and floor. Below you can see what 'tricks' the mind plays in various situations:
